The article is about how to make you social media more personable. One of the tips is avoid over used phrasings or calls to actions just to seem more original and creative. The second tip is to avoid blanket statements to avoid depersonalizing the experience for people and make it seem like a one on one experience. The third tip is to avoid all posts be about the brand raving about itself and more about how it can bring value to the consumer. Finally, be more specific and instead of being vague with words like best say what exactly makes it the best. (Smigel)

This relates to class because it treads the same territory as the user experience. Social Media Marketing is all about what the consumers are getting not the brand if it is going to be successful. The suggestion of being creative makes the social media marketing seem new and unique and people have become blind to the same phrasings through repetitive exposure. This creativity will have consumers looking at the posts in a new light and more engaged instead of just scrolling through without registering what they are reading. It is like a noise that you hear all the time. Over time you don’t hear it anymore because you have automatically tuned it out. People want something new and will be more likely to want to engage with something they find original.

By avoiding blanket statements it makes the experience more desirable. If you alienate your consumers then you risk them switching to another brand. Consumers want a brand that make them feel that they are seen as an individual and will get a more personalized and satisfactory experience. This makes the company or brand seem more accessible to every day people and not so corporate and removed from the consumers.

When the social media is more about how it can benefit the consumers, it makes the brand seem more genuine. A company that is all about how great its products are so great seem as they are trying to just get you to buy the product. By showing they are considering that they are thinking about what the customer needs and how to fulfil their needs.
